Davy Crockett and the Supreme Court

Saturday, September 18th, 2010

Today, MJM thanks Justice Clarence Thomas, and welcomes him to Knoxville.  He spoke at the University of Tennessee Law School where one of the Luckygunners met him, and the Justice will be in Neyland Stadium along with about 110,000 other fans on this bright, beautiful September day to watch UT and Florida go at it.

Thank you, Justice Thomas, perhaps the strongest proponent of constitutional government on the Court.  Thank you, President Reagan, for elevating this man in his career and positioning him for President George H.W. Bush to nominate him to the Supreme Court.  Thank you Republicans who went to bat to defend the nomination.  Elections do have consequences that play out over decades.

Why the Russians, Jihadists, and…All the Rest Perceive Us as Weak

Friday, September 17th, 2010

This retired soldier could be our Secretary of Homeland Security.  Click the link and you will see that he actually knows more than a little about national security.

This unqualified ex-governor actually is our Secretary of Homeland Security.

So, if you are watching us, do you think we take national security seriously?

The mistake, of course, is to think that our government is “we.”

(Currahee, Jerry, if you see this, I just couldn’t help it and you make a good contrast.)

Warning to the USSR

Friday, September 17th, 2010

No, that’s no mistake.  USSR.  That’s what I said and I meant it.

Russians, you are making the often–and fatally repeated–mistake of underestimating the United States of America.  Fools.  Study your history.

Don’t make too much out of America’s perceived weakness. There are plenty of us out here who still don’t trust you, still know you are commies, and still remain armed, able, and ready to take you on.

Marines Take Down Pirates

Friday, September 17th, 2010

Guess what these Marines were doing about a week ago while the rest of us went about our summer-to-fall transition?
Marines.  Force Recon.  Pirates.  Read how they rescued the Magellan Star here.

In the Courtroom: Hot Cases That Will Change Our Country

Friday, September 17th, 2010

What a year for your right to keep and bear arms!

But, lots more is going out there other than McDonald.  The flurry of cases smacking Marx around at the municipal level.  These legal matters march ahead, changing what it means to be an American.  Want to know what’s shaking things up out there?  (It’s a pretty quick, summarized read.)

Thought Police Arrest Koran Page Burner, Employer Fires Him

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

Police arrest man who burned pages from Koran, at WTC site.

The link includes a photograph so that you can see why I say this was an arrest.

See those hands on him?  Would you reasonably believe you were free to go about your business, with one NYPD officer gripping your arm and two others behind you?  What if you resisted being “ushered from the scene of the protest?”  Taser time!  He was under arrest and the New Jersey Transit Authority fired him.

He was not later charged.  That does not negate the arrest.  Indeed, it makes the arrest more suspect.

Are we free from the government “abridging the freedom of speech…” or not?  I see a civil rights lawsuit here and I hope he files it.

Interview With Jurors at Your Murder Trial: After They Convict You

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

Don't let the perp with the knife get too close.

You shot a man who attacked your loved ones and you with a knife.  You put two well-placed bullets into his chest.  He screamed but kept coming, knife up.  Your head-shot stopped him. Imagine this cross-examination by the  attorney prosecuting you, or representing the family of your attacker in the wrongful death suit they brought to ruin you.
Attorney: “You were fully aware, when you decided to pull the trigger on that gun of yours, that Mr. ___________ had only a kitchen knife?!  Weren’t you?!”

You:  Oh, yes, yes, I was certainly aware he came at me with a knife.  Only a kitchen knife?  Only a kitchen knife?  I was well aware that a man with a knife can in a heartbeat slash large slabs of flesh from your bones.  I was aware that only the most hardened killer–like your Mr. __________–could ever take a knife in his hand and do this!  (Here, you show him the pictures MJM posted for you.)(Thanks to Bill Noll, Tennessee Firearms Association)

He objects: irrelevant, unfairly prejudicial.

The pictures come into evidence because you have made them part of the evidence of your state of mind.

The jurors puke as they pass them around.  The jurors still conscious glare at that attorney and nod their heads to you.

At least, that’s what we would like to happen. (more…)

More Leftoid Dismay

Monday, September 13th, 2010

Obama administration selling F-15s, Blackhawks, Little Birds to Saudi Arabia.  If George Bush had done this, it would have been seen as some sort of oil company orchestrated, big defense corporation orchestrated, American imperialist gambit.

Hmm.  Wonder what the Marxist Bush-haters see this as?  Can’t help but laugh.  I’m eager to read the interpretations and justifications.  Where are they?  The silence is deafening.

Bloomberg

Monday, September 13th, 2010

I gave him credit for standing up for the 1st amendment.  Now, I enjoy excoriating him for his campaign against the 2nd. Remarkably, the crime rate in NYC is way down compared to 20 years ago.  Maybe fighting crime works.
