Patriotism: A Value Scorned by Democrats?

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

The authors of this Harvard study seem perplexed: it seems that 4th of July parades are paramount to Republican rallies.  A few comments are below.

Congressional Marxists Mount Fast and Furious Propaganda Campaign

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

In keeping with the authoritarian imperative that free people be disarmed by their government, this congressman, Democrat Elijah Cummings, is mounting an Orwellian propaganda campaign.  The personal, forcible disarmament lobby and this administration, having been embarrassed by the the truth—that our own government set up American gun shops to sell guns to straw purchasers passing guns to Mexican cartels—are now seeking to deflect their guilt.

This cannot be over emphasized: Your Secretary of State, for one, is caught on video, colluding with a foreign power that has been no great friend of ours, to deprive American citizens of the right to keep and bear arms.  At minimum, Operation Fast and Furious was a foolhardy ploy that turned into a betrayal of the gun dealers used by the ATF.  It is conceivable that the administration co-opted the operation’s press releases and photo ops, using them opportunistically to try to scare the American people into accepting more gun control.  At the worst, the entire operation was mounted by the administration to cook the books to create evidence backing the false claim that Mexican drug gangs arm up by illegal retail purchases in America.  More and more, this appears to have been a conspiracy all along by the government to deprive the citizenry of the right to keep and bear arms.

Elections matter: We had better be in communication with our representatives and senators, we had better organize, and we had better show up to vote, or the lying, conspiring, communist scum will turn this country into a 1984 styled, doctored footnote in revisionist history books used to indoctrinate our grandchildren in the future.  There will have been no U.S. Constitution; there will have been no right to keep and bear arms.  There will have been no you.

The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms alerts us: You may read its warning below. (more…)

The Blessings of Centralized Government…

Wednesday, June 29th, 2011

…are chaos, debt, despair, taxes, bankruptcy and blood in the streets. Thank you Marx!  Thank you Engels!  What a brilliant idea!  Collect all power into the hands of committees of bureaucrats and politicians—who back themselves by the secret police and army.

American Democrat Party: Are you watching?  Are you reconsidering the bedrock worldview that animates your politics?  I think not.

Update: Wisconsin Underground Resistance Forces (WURFs) Celebrate Right to Carry

Sunday, June 26th, 2011

On the eve of the courageous Governor Scott Walker’s signing Wisconsin’s new right to carry bill, Rachel Parsons, of the NRA, summed up the right to carry situation well:

“Currently, there are 40 Right-to-Carry states: 37 have “shall issue” laws, requiring that carry permits be issued to applicants who meet uniform standards established by the state legislature. Two have fairly-administered discretionary-issue carry permit systems. Vermont respects the right to carry without a permit. Alaska and Arizona have “shall issue” permit systems for permit reciprocity with other states, and have allowed concealed carrying without a permit since 2003 and July 2010, respectively. Wyoming passed a permitless carry law earlier this year that goes into effect in July. Of the 10 non-RTC states, eight have restrictively-administered discretionary-issue systems; Illinois and Wisconsin are currently the only states to have no permit system and generally prohibit carrying.”

He Has His Jim Crow History Reversed

Friday, June 24th, 2011

But, will anyone listening to Chicago’s stupidest police chief ever know that?

Uh, Chief, the government’s Jim Crow laws deprived black people of the right to keep and bear arms.  Why don’t you just shut up and try to actually do your job?  Ask your mayor to free the people to defend themselves, since defending the people of Chicago is way out of your control. You have FAILED.

Answer: As we all, and Chicago in particular, reap the fruits of welfare socialism and government-sponsored social breakdown over 50 years, he is desperate for answers–answers that still fit his politics, that is.  He is NOT desperate for the truth.

Pictures and Images From Scenes From Jack McDonald’s Adventures

Monday, June 20th, 2011

Several of you asked about the action scene locations in Amazon Avenger, and in Arcturus. I’ve uploaded some images to Amazon.com, but, here are some of the places, guns, and other images that make up Amazon Avenger’s action scenes. We start in Brazil, 1,000 miles up the Amazon River, and I think you will find some of the photos interesting.  If you are like me, it helps to see what you are reading about, so here they are:

Boats typically seen on Amazon River

Typical wooden, lake canoe, sometimes paddled by small children who are at home on the Amazon as they are in their houses.

Giant rubber tree in Amazon swamp: click on the picture and look carefully at lower right for scale.

Typical Amazon River home.

The Amazon River bank is not all isolated. These and hundreds more are packed in on the north river bank, south of Manaus.

Burger flush deck, luxury motor yacht, like the Arcturus, after which Jack's counter-terror team and my first book are both named. The name has deeper significance revealed in the story.

CAA Tactical Roni pistol-to-carbine conversion with Bersa Thunder 9mm. I confess, the cool factor drew me in, but there is a reason for Jack's armorer choosing the Roni for this mission.

Caiman crocodiles--Imagine slipping into these waters, in the night... This photo was taken in the Pantanal, a vast swamp not part of the Amazon basin.

Without giving too much away, somebody in Amazon Avenger makes good use of the compact firepower of the Desert Tactical "Covert" in .338 Lapua Magnum caliber.

Typical "colmado" (general store) in the Dominican Republic where you may buy phone cards, water, snacks, and, of course, their excellent Presidente' beer

Hotel El Conde', Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where the Arcturus team re-groups to plan the next phase of Operation Piranha.

Courtyard at Hotel Tropical, Manaus, Brazil, where Jack and Saya-dar cross paths.

Bar, Hotel Tropical, where Saya-dar lures President Guevara into his plan. Lesson learned: Don't hate America and drink. The mixture could lead you to fatal conclusions.

AO (area of operations) Manhattan: Those Islamic terrorists just can't seem to forget about New York City. If you live in these blocks, you'll recognize the scene as you read about it.

Russian SN-22 "Sunburn" missile. How far can they really enhance the range?

Just For Laughs

Sunday, June 19th, 2011

So much of what I post is so serious!  I’m always sounding off with all of these warnings about terrorists, the Idiocracy, hanging murderers on the courthouse lawn at noon on Friday, and The Great Zombie Invasion.  Here, however, you will hear President Reagan, telling jokes, told by the Russian people, about life in their communist utopia.  I recommend sitting back with a salty snack and a beer, and let the video roll.  Thank you, Theo Spark.

Update on Last Post: Fast and Furious, the PR War Against American Gun Owners

Sunday, June 19th, 2011

I finished the post just before this one, picked up the new issue of the American Rifleman,” which had just arrived, and went to breakfast.  (You need a good meal before exploding some Tannerite.)  I was delighted to see Wayne LaPierre’s special report, “We Need to Extinguish The Firewall of Lies” article. (page 12, July 2011).  In this article, Wayne raises the stakes and accuses the administration. (more…)
