Chivalry in the gun blogosphere

06/8/2011 @ 5:18pm

If a blogger were to post a picture of a fellow-gun owner, shooting advocate, and gun rights activist lady, and he titled that post  ”_________ (naming the lady) porn,” then it would be the wise act of a gentleman to reconsider and delete that post.  Sometimes, we’re  just wrong and this is that blogger’s time.

And, sometimes archaic words and concepts like “gentlemanly” and even “chivalry” prove themselves to be not so archaic at all.

    Very well said.

Well said indeed.  Not only is the whole thing classless, it also appears actionable.

Your post is nice but I see you are still advertising on the offending blog.  Words speak softely; actions speak….

  • Newbius

Caleb and crew: Are you still supporting the offending “blogger”?  Or, has your link take-down request just not been honored yet?

I do appreciate your comment and your apparent agreement. However, I am an independent writer, blogging my own thoughts with no authority to speak for anyone else, or any company.

It is my hopes that you still see the add there because the blogger has not taken down the code. LG can disable ad revenue but I am not so sure they can disable the display of the ad itself on someone elses blog.

    Hi, Newbius,
I hope all at LG read my blog posts, but I do not know whether or how often they monitor what I am writing, or what others may comment.  They offer me space, and I like to write, so here I am, working away, running my own multiple businesses and blogging my own thoughts, responsible for no others.  So I will pass the comments pertaining to this controversy that arose
yesterday on to the people at LG.
I thought long and hard about my words, and decided to give what I
think is sound advice to the offending blogger.  I’ll stand with that.

    Well Said MJ.

Thanks for the clarification. I did not realize you weren’t necessarily part of or employed by LG.

If you are passing messages along to Lucky Gunner mgmt, please pass this one along too:

I have purchased ammo from LuckyGunner in the past, and things have gone well enough that I have been happy to recommend you to my friends.  However principal wins over price, so if the classless behavior referenced in this post is what won the award here: http://www.luckygunner.com/2011-gunnie-awards then I will take my business elsewhere.

    Thanks,
    Ben C

Well said. If you can figure out how not to advertise on his site it would be a nice follow-up.
