American Kidnapped in Somalia: MJM Proposes The Klinghoffer Doctrine

Friday, October 28th, 2011

American citizenship means little if people across the world feel quite free to kidnap your citizens.  While this kidnapping  is an extreme test one 32-year old American woman’s courage, her kidnapping also challenges us all, asking: “America! How weak are you?”

We will see.

I blogged here before that a hallmark of American foreign policy should include enforcing respect for American citizenship across the world.  In other words, “Keep your damned hands off our citizens or get killed.”  Stated in more diplomatic terms, and proposed to any candidate listening, I proposed the following principles for American foreign policy.  We don’t have a foreign policy, and haven’t for years.  Here it is, quoted and in specific bullet points, if any candidate is listening: (more…)

In Wimpified America Today

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

Disorderly conduct charge for dressing a deer in public.  In WIMPified America where meat occurs naturally only in plastic-wrapped packages, this is a crime.

WIMP.  Some people think it is a stand-alone noun, meaning weak and cowardly.  Since it sort of sounds like what it is, it could be.  Let’s have some fun with the etiology of WIMP (not the entomology of the word, as I heard someone say, hilariously, lately). (more…)

Tuesday, October 25th, 2011

I’ll keep this short.  I’m posting because today, Governor Perry proposed a 20% “flat” tax.  We should all lay this to rest.  Kill it off.  Head shot to the flat tax.  The flat tax is an illusion. (more…)

Commentary on NYC First-grader Found With Mom’s Gun in Backpack

Monday, October 24th, 2011

SayUncle brings to our attention a piece in the NY Daily News.  Thanks, Unc, this one is worth some study.  There is so much in this.  Where do we begin?  First-grader’s mom put pistol into child’s backpack (for reasons unknown) and forgot to take it out when she sent child to school. Child found it in pack, removed it, and counselors were rushed to the scene.  No one shot; no rounds fired; from the article, it cannot even be inferred that the child “swept” the class with the muzzle.  Here is some “Gun Control in the Culture” commentary: (more…)
