I listened today as a radio-interviewed Chicago mom wailed about Chicago’s teachers going on strike.  ”They are not doing this for the sake of our kids!”

Yet, I’d bet money that—if that irate mom votes at all—she has been voting Chicago’s Democrat, union-backed machine into office over and over.  I wonder just what she thought she was voting for?

Mom: You got exactly what you voted for.  No surprise.

Now, picture an entire nation, with another important market segment completely nationalized, with salaries, prices, reimbursements all established by the government.

Now, picture the country’s doctors and nurses all going on strike.

Now, picture life in a free country.
