Where I grew up, in small-town America, two hard-working men owned the local grocery store. They were known to be members of the John Birch Society, an organization, much-maligned by the Left for its warnings to Americans about how our country was being lost through deceit and subterfuge. Carl and Gene put up one of the Society’s billboards that said: “Get US out of the UN.”
Everybody thought it was sort of crazy.
Turns out Carl and Gene—and the John Birch Society—were right.
I can identify no sufficient reason for the United States to continue to host this growing parasite. The conglomeration of anti-American professional bureaucrats wants to take us over. They did then; they do now.
The sole reason for keeping them around is that it becomes more convenient for us to spy on the member countries, recruit their traitors as agents, and listen in.
That rationale no longer suffices; it is time for the United States of America to withdraw from membership, order the United Nations out of the country, and send its host of vermin packing.
If you object, saying we need to “stay engaged” in world diplomacy, then you are willfully ignoring the fact that we have a State Department for this purpose. The State Department speaks as the official United States voice in the world, negotiates agreements, conducts foreign relations, and “stays engaged” with the diplomats of other nations. So, why is a United Nations presence necessary? What does UN diplomacy add to what should be the vigorous conduct of a strong U.S. foreign policy? Nothing.
Indeed, the U.N. welcomes our enemies, and ascribes credibility to dictators who hate us. Tolerating this telegraphs American weakness to a dangerous world.
Now, the U.N. presumes the power to tax Americans. If our leaders tolerate this, then they have betrayed us into the hands of foreign governments.
Get U.S. out of the U.N. Carl and Gene: you were right.
