What would you get with four more years of President Obama?

Bigger question: What would you get with four more years of The Great Society?  President Obama is only the most recent high priest of the humanist religion centered in the holy city of Washington.  We have only to look at their child city—Chicago—to foretell our future.  Chicago should be their heaven.   Instead, the grandiose name they chose for their welfare state mocks them: “The Great Society” is—not.

We can change, or we can continue the descent.  But, one election won’t do it.  The question to be answered by getting four more years, but with Romney-Ryan instead is:

…Are there enough people grown sick of the excesses of the governing elite, to strip them of power?

MJM doubts it: While the Democrats revel in drunken orgy on the power bought by massive government spending, many Republican politicians eye the lavish festivities, savor the good food and wine, delight in backroom deals, sniff the air and do not quite yet scent enough hot tea in the public will to call a halt to their unruly brethren.  They who see the danger and who would stop it, do not hear enough encouragement from we-the-people.

Yet.

Note to Chicagoans: You are a metaphor for the welfare state.  I actually like your city.  I worked there as a teenager.  I had relatives there.  I have visited and enjoyed your downtown–several times.  Your architecture is a delight.  Your museums are a wonder.  People I encounter are friendly.  But, you are rotten in your core, and your government is oppressive.  It was corrupt decades ago, and everyone knew it.  I would never live there.  Thousands of you have reached a similar decision, and flown for the suburbs.  All of this was predictable.  Predicted.

Will you return that party to power, yet again? Why?  If you will, then what exactly do you expect they will do to turn your city around?
