Spain. In today’s news with 25% unemployment. Still protesting against “austerity” measures. Read that simply, “less government spending.” They are not even thinking about their government spending less than they take in.
If you want to see the United States’ future under more control by the American left, look at Spain. They used to have a more conservative President, for two terms: 8 years. But, President Aznar’s first term was plagued by leftist rabble-rousing over global warming, government union backlashes, and national coal mining strikes. Typical leftist yammering. Aznar’s second term began in 2000. Spain’s economy did better than most in Europe, but the more conservative Aznar was pro-Israel, and an ally of the post 9-11 United States under President Bush—which got him mocked by the left on both sides of the Atlantic. Then, days before the election, March 11, 2004, Islamic terrorists bombed a commuter train coming into Madrid. Initially, Aznar suggested that Spain’s Basque Separatists were probably to blame. The proven guilt laid on Islamic terrorists, and Aznar’s support for President Bush and the Global War on Terror angered Spaniards, who reacted by voting Aznar out in favor of the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party. In the United States, conservatives widely saw this as a cowardly retreat in the face of the new Islamic invasion.
I was in Madrid only days after the bombing, and I can tell you from personal experience that the Spanish press and people seized on Aznar’s erroneous attempt to draw attention away from Islamic terrorism—and from his own U.S.-Bush-Iraq support. The war was not popular with them; they never liked us much anyway, and President Bush was no socialist ally. The Madrid train bombing sparked Spain’s rejection of the United States and the president who had allied himself with our president. Spain retreated. But, what I found most astounding was their massive quantum shift back to that more modern variety of socialism that we in the form of the western, heavily government-regulated economy. But, what do you expect from a country subjected to centuries of monarchy, domination by a rigid religious system, lured by communists, and then socialist dictatorship? Spain never participated in any American-styled constitutional republican revolution, coming late toward something like government by the people, of the people, and for the people.
So, there you are. The Spanish, like the Greeks, chose their socialism. So, stew in it. It is sad that it takes utter collapse for people to accept the truth.
Americans be warned: We all get exactly the government we choose. That is especially true in a country where free citizens have the right to vote and the elections are not stolen by tricksters. For decades, the left have held up in our faces the model of Europe, Europeans, the European Union, and Europe’s socialism. This began long ago, traceable back to around the time of Bismark and his heavy-handed government control of Germany. The left’s worship of Marx’s ghost has all played out very badly, mocking “The Great Society” and leaving us $16 trillion in debt and mired in endless warfare.
So, Americans, the paths before you are plain to all who see and think. It’s time for real change. By that, I mean get the Democrats out of power, and hold the Republicans’ feet to the fire. Scald them with hot tea if you have to—as in Tea Party. It’s long past time. Insist on an American government that first serves Americans, secures to us our liberty, and sees itself as servant instead of master.
But, if you are not ready to re-claim your freedom, then just you go right ahead and confirm that the way of man is corruption, foolishness, collapse, and pathetic submission to the endless likes of kings, czars, dictators, departments bureaus, and presidents who promise the masses the moon. But, you really have to be stupid to choose that path. You were forewarned about the abuses you would suffer at the heavy hand of those who rule over you; your own founders knew these things, and are on record warning you; and the modern history of the world is a history of authoritarian slaughter and government-induced economic stagnation. Seriously, how dumb are you? That is the question before us all at this election.
How long ago were you warned? You don’t have to look into the crystal ball. Find your Bible and read First Samuel 8. We get the government we demand.
